AS Media - Escapim
In our opening sequence we used titles in the font 'Courier new bold' as we thought this suited the genre. We made sure the titles were consistent in terms of their size and font and tried to make them look professional. We put the names of the distribution and production company followed by the producers and directors then the actors, editors, casters, and make up artists etc. Although we wanted our titles to look good, we didn't want them to take the focus away from what was going on in the film.
Characters
Titles
We used two characters in our opening sequence, McKenzie and the father. McKenzie is the protagonist of the film and is a 16 year old boy. A young male as a protagonist is popular in coming of age films, such as in 'Ferris Buellar's Day Off'. This is used as the audience of the films are mostly teenagers, so it makes sense to have a teenager as the protagonist so the audience will be able to relate to him.
Film production and Distribution companies
In terms of the film companies we chose to credit in our titles, we chose Film 4, as they are renowned for producing some of the greatest coming of age films. it was important that we chose to a production company that wasn't too big as most coming of age films are produced by smaller companies and independent film companies. We also used one that was known for producing them so it was more realistic and looked right. As our production was small, we wanted to use smaller companies than hollywood ones such as Colombia Pictures, so we used Arrowhead.
