Camera angles and shots
In the opening sequence we tried to use different camera angles and shots to express feelings of characters and power held by certain people. For example, when the father is walking down the corridor, we used a low angle shot from the floor looking up at the person. This shows the audience that the character has a lot of power, as he is above us. We then pan up from his feet to his neck to show his physical presence and power. Furthermore, we used a close up shot of McKenzie's face as he heard his father coming, to show his emotions and his facial expressions. We developed to camera angles to truly reflect the characters and mood of the film.
Dialogue
In our opening sequence we used minimal dialogue as we thought that if we had too much speech it would disrupt the tense mood and atmosphere, and wouldn't have the effect we wanted.
